NSHRC Chairperson Justice Songkhupchung Serto visits Zunheboto

The Chairperson of Nagaland State Human Rights Commission (NSHRC), Justice, Songkhupchung Serto along with his team reached Zunheboto district on 28th Feb.

During his visit to the Government Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto, Serto took stock of the ongoing school building construction and further proceeded to an interaction with SMDC and teaching faculty where, he was apprised of school details and grievances by the school administration. Serto, later on his address to the school authority said that, a teacher’s job, though may not be acknowledged so, is a noble service and is one of the prime contributors in building, developing and growing of everything thing. And if Nagaland wishes to be known as developed state in the future, it has to be through education, stated Serto. Interacting with the teaching faculty, Serto described that, all children are differently abled, like every human are and has to be moulded accordingly and the time teachers have in a student’s journey, though may be less, can impact a student’s life significantly if a teacher executes it’s moral duty with sincerity.

Earlier, principal of GHSS, in his honorary address acknowledged that the team’s visit to the school as monumental and the school is deeply honoured to host a guest of his stature, which was first of its kind, he added.

The NSHRC team also visited district hospital Zunheboto, district jail and police station. Further, Chairperson had a meeting with Zunheboto district administration and line departments and later concluded his programme with a meeting with judicial officers.

Earlier, NSHRC chairperson and the touring team visited Satakha town on 27th Feb. and are scheduled to proceed further to Atoizu on 1st March, as part of the touring programme.
