NSL Match at Chümoukedima Football Stadium called off due to heavy downpour, matches to resume on March 13

The Nagaland Super League (NSL) Match Day 13 at Chümoukedima Football Stadium on March 12 was called off due to heavy downpour, informed a communique by  Lanutoshi Yaden, Member, NSL Governing Body.

Due to natural calamity factors, the communique informed that the match could not be completed and played, with severe lightning during heavy downpours affecting the stadium floodlights which resulted in damage to stadium infrastructures.

“The actual extent of the damages caused will be fully known only after the technical engineers and implementing company of the facility are able to asses the facilities after a full technical study. This is expected to take place in the next 48 hours. As a result of the natural calamity, the ongoing match between Nagaland United SC and Longterok FC was called off,” NSL stated.

As per the AIFF regulations, the match will resume at 9AM on March 13 at the same venue. The Match was automatically suspended for the duration of thirty (30) minutes to allow technical repairs or restorations. After the completion of the stipulated 30 minutes of stoppage, the Referee declared the Match as Abandoned for the day.

“The NSL Governing Body in consultation with the match officials and technical committee has decided that the Matches shall be recommenced and rescheduled. The Match between Longterok FC vs Nagaland United SC shall recommence with the same score at the minute and seconds at which play was stopped. The match shall recommence under the same condition and situation at which the match was stopped, meaning the original players and substitutes list, the sanctions imposed, the conditions of substitutions and any other factor will remain the same and the match shall resume without any changes to the match situation,” it Informed.

The second match to be played between Barak FC vs 27 United FC which could not be conducted has been rescheduled for 12:30 PM at the same venue – Chümoukedima Football Stadium on March 13.

“The rest of the Nagaland Super League schedule remains unchanged. The Match Day tickets for Chümoukedima Football Stadium dated 12th March, 2025 will be valid for the recommencement and rescheduled match at the same venue on 13th March, 2025. The Nagaland Super League Governing Body expressed its sincere regrets for the inconveniences caused to all stakeholders, especially the fans at the Stadium and on all our broadcasting and media platforms. We further extend our appreciation towards the fans, all the stakeholders and the followers of sports for your patience, support and solidarity during this unexpected incident caused by the force of nature,” added the NSL.
