The Nagaland Shooting Sports Association (NSSA), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland, held the Valedictory cum Prize Distribution Ceremony of the two-week free training and competition program under the theme “Sports for All” on August 30. The program was conducted from August 22 to 30 at the Temjen Toy Indoor Shooting Range, Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex, Duncan, Dimapur.
Vilivi H Sheqi chaired the ceremony, while Khrusa Keyho, DCP Dimapur, graced the event as the Special Guest.
Wiridin Zeliang, SDO (Civil) Dimapur, as the Guest of Honour, described shooting as a rare and fascinating sport for Nagaland, noting that it was his first time.
Highlighting the potential of the sport, Wiridin said that it is necessary to explore this kind of sport as shooting is one of the most interesting games, and by default, Nagas are naturally inclined towards such activities.
Encouraging the athletes, he reminded them that nothing comes easy when striving to be at the top. To achieve the goal, we must put this as an aim in life, he said, while urging participants to practice diligently and maintain consistency to excel in the sport.

The welcome address and a detailed report on the two-week training and competition were presented by Hito Swu, Shooting Instructor, DYRS.
Earlier in the program, an invocation was delivered by Liza R. Achumi, followed by. Gemdynaro Longkumtzur, speaking on behalf of the athletes, expressed gratitude to the organisers for providing free coaching opportunities and the Valedictory cum Prize Distribution, where outstanding participants were awarded for their performances.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Shalo Khing, Hon. Secretary, NSSA, followed by refreshments.
