Chief Minister, Nephiu Rio inaugurated the NSSB office and launched its new website. Speaking at the event, Rio stated how he was privileged to inaugurate the NSSB office and also thanked all his cabinets and Chief secretary for their sincere support in making this a reality.
The Chief Minister said that, it has been a long-awaited demand of the people for a NSSB office and that the need for such an office has been felt for a long time. He further added that, given that his party and government have keen concerns for the youths of the state, he hoped that the NSSB will build trust among the public in Nagaland through its functioning.
While congratulating the board, Rio added that the NSSB had a lot to do given that people have high expectations from the office.
Rio advised the newly elected NSSB chairman and colleagues to provide job opportunities to aspirants without any biases and follow all government guidelines while availing vacancies, exams or results. Proper care should be taken while accepting the applications of the aspirants in order to avoid any unnecessary issues on their part.
Mr Sedevikho Khro, chairman NSSB stated in his opening remarks how it was a great day for the youth of Nagaland where there are more than ninety thousand unemployed youths, the coming of this office would serve as a beacon of hope and opportunity to the deserving aspirants.
Meanwhile, the chief secretary of Nagaland congratulated the government and newly appointed members of NSSB in dedicating sincere commitment for the cause of Naga youth and wished the NSSB the very best in their new endeavour.
Additionally, it is worth noting that the NSSB had been a long joint demand from the two apex student bodies of Nagaland – the NSF & ENSF dating back to 2019. NSSB is expected to be a source of opportunity for the youth of Nagaland.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by B. Henok Buchem, Secretary NCS cum Controller NSSB and invocation was pronounced by Rev. T.W. Yamyap Konyak.
