NSUD organises blood donation camp to ensure availability of blood for Naga patients

The Naga Students’ Union, Delhi, on August 17, organised a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Special Police Unit for North East Region, AIIMS Delhi, BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital and Fortis Hospital.

The Camp was organised in order to ensure availability of blood for Naga patients in urgent need of blood, informed a press release by NSUS. Three donation sites were set up at the respective hospitals where donors voluntarily came and donated blood at the site of their choice. P.N. Khrimey, IPS, Jt. Commissioner for SPUNER/SPUWAC and Nodal Officer for NE Region, and Kuolie Mere, Dy. Director, IPR, Government of Nagaland, visited the donation sites and expressed their appreciation for the selfless service rendered by the donors and commended the union for the noble initiative.

The camp was attended by more than 80 individuals from the Naga and other communities. The union believes that the initiative will be of immense help to the many Nagas who come to Delhi for treatment and the union looks towards organising bigger and more comprehensive camps in the future.
