NSWON condemns violence against women

The National Socialist Women’s Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) has issued statement condemning the rising cases of violence, discrimination, and insecurity faced by women in Naga society.

In a statement issued on November 15, the NSWON Chairperson Hosheli Achumi stated, “The male dominated society has become a symbol of, way too much insecurity amongst the womenfolk, where the feminine gender is only viewed from the focal lenses of satiating the opposite gender’s urges or having to go through the unspoken brutality of domestic violence.”

Highlighting reports of women including minors being abused and assaulted, NSWON condemned called such acts terming it as “devilish” and urged society to reflect on the respect owed to women, including the mothers who give birth to and raise future generations.

It also reaffirmed Its commitment to stand up for  women’s rights, empowerment in the field of academics, economy, politics, spirituality, revival of culture or into the world of aesthetics, or excellence in sports arena.

The organisation further appealed the concerned authorities to diligently perform their duties and swiftly book culprits and to ensure justice is delivered promptly.
