The Nagaland Transparency, Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) has expressed deep concern over the recent incident where two persons from the Ao community were abducted by members of NSCN-K (Niki Sumi) factionon 10th October and later released on the same day.
The Organisation appreciated the Dimapur Police Commissioner and his team “for taking effective measures for resolution of the embroglio and always staying vigilant” and also extended its support for the protest move led by the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) “for taking a firm stand against unlawful practices of multiple taxations and remained committed to support Naga entrepreneurs and businesses”.
At the same time, the NTPRADAO has urged the Government of India to expedite the 2015 and 2017 Naga political agreements and opined that all sections of Naga society “must work in unison towards a cohesive Naga society”.
“Till such time arrives the entire Naga society has to maintain a deeper level of empathy, tolerance and great understanding with the Naga Political Groups (NPGs) numbering around 25-26 giving them some leverage and space,” further stated NTPRADAO’s Vice President Y Andrew and General Secretary Chenithung Lotha.
