NU NSS Volunteers conduct cleanliness campaign as part of 4th Janjatiya Gaurav Divas

Lumami: NSS volunteer kits, including caps and badges, distributed to all participants

Nagaland University’s NSS Volunteers (Lumami Units) organized a special cleanliness campaign on 14 November 2024, as part of the celebration of the 4th Janjatiya Gaurav Divas (15-26 November 2024). The event involved clearing weeds and wild plants along the footpath between the highway and the Dr. T. Ao Sports Complex, a press release from the University informed.

The Chief Guest Albert Khizho, Finance Officer of Nagaland University, delivered a short speech, drawing from his own experiences as a former NSS Coordinator. He encouraged the volunteers to continue their community service with dedication. Following the address, Khizho distributed NSS volunteer kits, which included caps and badges, to all participants.

Also, in attendance were Dr. Latonglila Jamir, Asst. Director, IQAC, and other faculty members.

Earlier, the event began with formal programme chaired by NU PRO, Peter Ki. Dr. Tovishe Phucho, NSS Programme Coordinator provided a brief orientation to the volunteers.

Ninety-eight students from the various departments have registered as NSS volunteers. They have been divided into two units, each under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Dr. Kedovikho Yhoshu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, and Dr. Tiasunep, Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology.
