NU Professor attends 2024 Global Lifelong Learning Week at University College Cork, Ireland

In a significant contribution in advancing educational practices and preserving cultural heritage at a global level, Nagaland University’s Associate Professor Dr Vasanthan Radhakrishnan, from the Department of English, was invited as a distinguished contributor to the 2024 Global Lifelong Learning Week. The event was held at the University College Cork, Cork, Ireland , from May 27 to 31, 2024, which was hosted by the ASEM Education and Research Hub for Lifelong Learning (ASEM LLL Hub), and supported by the Government of Ireland.

At the convention, Dr Vasanthan Radhakrishnan presented a poster and a research paper. The poster was on “Nurturing Naga Heritage: Integrating Art and Craft in Education”, while the research paper was on “Exploring Lifelong Learning: Working Professionals’ Expectations and Preferences for Continuing Education in India.”

The poster underscored the significance of incorporating indigenous art and craft into educational frameworks, particularly focusing on the preservation and celebration of Naga heritage, while the research paper explored the evolving landscape of lifelong learning, specifically addressing the expectations and preferences of working professionals regarding continuing education initiatives in India.

Additionally, he presented a portrait of Prof. Séamus Ó Tuama, Chair of the ASEM Education and Research Hub for Lifelong Learning (ASEM LLL Hub). The portrait, carved in wood by the talented Naga craftsman Lanu, displays the ASEM Chair adorned in Naga attire.
