The Nagaland University Research Scholars’ Forum (NURSF), Kohima Campus, launched a five-day national webinar on Research Methodology during May 27-31, 2025. The inaugural session of the webinar was held on May 27, 2025 with Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University Prof. J.K. Patnaik, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Jano S. Liegise as the Special Guest, informed a press release by the NU PRO.
Both dignitaries delivered insightful speeches, emphasizing the importance of research methodology in academic excellence and commending NURSF Kohima Campus for its proactive efforts in fostering research culture among scholars.
Limala Longchar, Research Scholar from the Department of English, chaired the inaugural session. Sakilur Rahman, President of NURSF and Convenor of the webinar, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the academic event. The first technical session, following the inaugural session, featured Prof. Bibhash Choudhury from Gauhati University, who delivered an enriching and thought-provoking lecture on research methodology.

The webinar saw enthusiastic participation, with 150 scholars registering from universities across India as well as international institutions. Distinguished resource persons are scheduled to deliver lectures in the national webinar, including Prof. Ranjit Singh from IIIT Allahabad, Dr. M.R.N. Babu, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bordoloi, and Dr. Perumalraja R, all from Nagaland University, Kohima Campus.
This initiative by Nagaland University Research Scholars’ Forum, Kohima Campus is a commendable step towards strengthening the academic and research skills of young scholars, reflecting a strong commitment to academic excellence and collaborative learning. The forum has been independently organizing a series of webinars and workshops since April this year.
