The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) in a unanimous outcome is all set to explore ways and means to reach out the unreached wrestling practised areas within the state and beyond. This outreach is a part of promoting the Wrestling discipline both in Naga style and other national and international styles by upholding the Association Aims and Objectives through organizing coaching and training camps and competition as well, informed a press release by the NWA.
These objectives were adopted during the NWA first General Assembly (GA) for the tenure 2024-2028 held at the Association Office, Kohima on July 20.
During the GA which is the highest decission making platform of the Association, the house endorsed the Executive Office Bearers (EOB) to streamline the requirements and carry forward plans and strategies of the mission for further proceedings and implementations.
Technical aspects and provisions of the Naga style of wrestling was approved to be reviewed upon under a “Committee” to be headed by the NWA Technical Secretary with the representatives from the affiliated units and NWA central office and further endorsed the Committee to come up with refined and viable provisions viz; proper usage of tactics, techniques, rules and regulations etc. The house further endorsed the EOB to constitute the Committee at an early date for timely functional and accomplishment thereof.

The house also resolved to give its due importance to other national and international style of wrestling viz; free style and belt wrestling for the larger interest of the upcoming young and potential wrestlers and also to take forward the wrestling under a broader horizon.
NWA President Vivolie Kezo, while chairing the day-long Assembly highlighted several provisions of Articles enshrined in the Constitution and urged upon all the members to be well versed and equipped with the Constitution and also adhered to abide the same accordingly.
The 4 hours long marathon session also dwelt on other important matters concerning the Association.
