NWA Team departs for Coaching at Gonda, Uttar Pradesh

A 17-member NWA contingent team departed for Gonda, Uttar Pradesh for a month-long Coaching Camp which is being organized by the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) in collaboration with the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

The Coaching Camp is focused on Freestyle Wrestling and Greco Roman Style of wrestling. Seeing the potential and scope of wrestling in these two disciplines, the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) envisions to develop Naga wrestlers in these disciplines for upcoming National Championships.

A brief send-off program was held here at Kohima for the team where Dr Chikhungo Puro, Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima encouraged, exhorted and blessed the team. He reminded the players to maintain discipline and put God above all in order to be a successful athlete.

The team comprises of prominent Naga Wrestlers Venuzo Dawhuo and Huluyi D Vadeo among others. The Team is led by Kuzhovesa Soho, Joint Secretary, NWA and Keneilel Kevin Rote, Treasurer, NWA.
