The oath of affirmation ceremony for the newly elected members of the Wokha Town Council was conducted today at the DC conference hall, Wokha. The Ceremony was presided by Wokha’s Acting Deputy Commissioner, K. Furhesie Nyuwi.

The oath affirmation for the elected Chairperson, Khozamo Lotha and Deputy Chairperson, Nzano P. Kikon, of the Wokha Town Council is scheduled for a later date. This ceremony will also be presided over by the Acting Deputy Commissioner in accordance with Section 12(3) and 23 of the Nagaland law.

A total of 15 councillors participated in the administration of the oath, marking the beginning of their tenure.

The event witnessed the swearing-in of the following 15 newly elected councillors to the Wokha Town Council:

2. Ward 2: K. Lidemo Murry (NDPP)
3. Ward 3: W. Myingthungo Kikon (NCP)
4. Ward 4: Lily T. Humtsoe (NCP)
5. Ward 5: Nzanthung Lotha (NCP)
6. Ward 6: Santsuthung Murry (NCP)
7. Ward 7: Nzanbeni Humtsoe (NDPP)
8. Ward 8: Khozamo Lotha (NDPP)
9. Ward 9: E. Zuthungpemo Ezung (NDPP)
10. Ward 10: Thungchano Kikon (NDPP)
11. Ward 11: N. Mhao Ngullie (NCP)
12. Ward 12: T. Chonthungo Lotha (BJP)
13. Ward 13: Nzano P. Kikon (BJP)
14. Ward 14: Rhukumo Kikon (BJP)
