A one-day offline Career Counselling Session was successfully conducted on November 15 under the ICAR–TSP (Indian Council of Agricultural Research- Tribal Sub-Plan) project entitled, “Development of Soft Skills, Professional Business and Entrepreneurial Skills to Enhance Employability among Students” at the School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), Nagaland University, with the aim of empowering students with essential knowledge about competitive examinations and career pathways. The programme was facilitated by Damaso Digital Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
The formal session was chaired by Dr Mary N Odyuo, Associate Professor & Principal Investigator, ICAR–TSP, who warmly welcomed all participants and highlighted the objectives of the counselling programme. She emphasized the importance of student engagement and noted that such initiatives play a significant role in guiding students toward informed academic and career decisions.
Prof Dipak Sinha, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, delivered an insightful exhortation, emphasizing the importance of building soft skills, professional abilities, and overall career preparedness among students. He stated that students today are fortunate to have access to structured support systems such as the ICAR–TSP project, which play a crucial role in strengthening their competitive capabilities. He encouraged the participants to make full and sincere use of these opportunities to enhance their academic growth and future career prospects.
Motivational messages were also shared by Dr Debika Nongmaithem, Assistant Professor & Co-PI, and Dr Sentirenla Jamir, Assistant Professor & Co-PI. Both stressed the importance of active participation in initiatives that enrich students’ academic progress and career readiness, whether offline or online, noting that such involvement is essential for developing employability skills.

An in-depth session facilitated by Damaso Digital Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was led by Shashank Dixit, an international trainer and renowned author. He covered a wide range of competitive examinations beginning with the UPSC, and extended the session to include major sectors such as banking and financial services, defence services, railways, SSC, ICAR ARS, FCI, IFFCO and allied examinations, research organizations like ISRO, DRDO, BARC, state civil services, and teaching eligibility tests, providing students with a clear overview of multiple career pathways and the preparation strategies required for them.
The session concluded with a fruitful interaction, during which students actively engaged with the resource person and gained clarity on multiple aspects of competitive exam preparation and career planning.
