The Nagaland Olympic Association organised the Olympic Day Run 2024 at the Indira Gandhi stadium, Kohima on June 22 with the theme “Let’s Move & Celebrate “, reported the DIPR.
Secretary General, Nagaland Olympic (NOA) Association & Vice president, Athletics federation of India, Abu Metha during the prize Distribution Ceremony congratulated all the participants and mentioned that you are joining millions of kids across the world to observe the Olympic Day celebration. You are not only participating here in Nagaland but you have become an ambassador and messenger of sports all over the world, he added.
If a champion comes from other countries, each one of you can also become a champion through your hard work and determination, said Metha. He encouraged the children to dream big to become the champion in their future careers and added that anything is possible if you work hard with dedication. He assured that NOA will be organising more events in future to promote games and sports, so that you all will represent Nagaland and India in the national and international level in future.

While thanking the parents and the school authorities for allowing the children to participate, he said that sports strengthen a person’s personality and develop him into a better person.
The Olympic Day Run Includes 50 meters for 6 years and below 8 years, 80 meters for 8 years and below 10 years, and 100 meters for 10 years and below 12 years.
Joint secretary, NOA, Kuputo Shohe chaired the program, and vote of thanks was delivered by Treasure, NOA Neiyalie Angami. All the winners were given cash incentives and certificates to all the participants. Children from different districts participated in the Olympic Day Run 2024 celebration.
