Longleng Police on Monday arrested one person after recovering 20 grams of suspected brown sugar from his possession.

It was informed that, after receiving intel from reliable sources about sale of illegal drugs in Longleng Town, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) launched an undercover operation. Upon reaching the location, a house raid was conducted where the force found a 500 ml plastic bottle containing suspected brown sugar.

The bottle was hidden inside the rice bag of the alleged accused, the police said.

Accordingly, the accused was arrested along with seized items in the presence of an independent witness and forwarded to LLG court for further necessary action.

Earlier on 23 June, in a different operation, the Longleng Police had arrested two persons, Chuba Phom of Shetap Village and Ayan Konyak of Naginimora, with one soap case containing suspected brown sugar measuring 10 grams at Shetap checkgate.

In this connection a case vide YLK PS C/ No 002/24 U/S 21(b) NDPS Act was registered, and the accused persons were forwarded to court for further legal proceedings.
