One-day entrepreneurship workshop held at Nagaland University

The ICAR Tribal Sub Plan (ICAR-TSP), School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), Nagaland University, successfully organized a one-day Entrepreneurship Workshop on October 4. Facilitated by Damaso Digital Solutions Pvt. Ltd., the event aimed to inspire students to embrace innovative thinking and pursue entrepreneurial ventures, informed a press release by the NU PRO.

The initiative was part of the ICAR-TSP project entitled “Development of Soft Skills, Professional, Business, and Entrepreneurial Skills to Enhance Employability among Students”, a fully sponsored ICAR programme designed to enhance the employability and entrepreneurial potential of Scheduled Tribe students by strengthening their soft skills, professional competencies, and business acumen.

The workshop began with a formal session chaired by Dr. Debika Nongmaithem, Assistant Professor & Co-PI, ICAR-TSP. A brief report on the programme was delivered by Dr. Mary N. Odyuo, Associate Professor & PI, ICAR-TSP, while exhortation was shared by Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Associate Professor & Co-PI, ICAR-TSP.

The technical session was led by Piyush Chandra, an international trainer, who engaged participants with insights into starting entrepreneurial journeys, building resilience, and exploring small-scale business opportunities while pursuing their studies.

Conducted in hybrid mode, the workshop witnessed active participation from students of Nagaland University and Japfu Christian College who attended physically, alongside virtual participants from various other colleges. The day concluded with an interactive Wrap-Up and Reflection session, where students shared takeaways and aspirations.

This initiative reflects ICAR-TSP and Nagaland University’s ongoing commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and confidence to pursue non-traditional career paths and contribute meaningfully to society, stated the press release.
