Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Aotula T Imchen IPS on Tuesday assured that the entire exercise of the ongoing police recruitment process at NAPTC Chumoukedima is being conducted in a transparent, fair and merit-based manner.
Briefing media persons, the Commissioner of Police informed that the open recruitment which would be held from January 7 to 13, 2026, is being carried out for 144 posts for Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Niuland districts allotted among the indigenous tribes of Nagaland. A total of 3,377 applications were received for the posts. She stated that a six-member screening committee had been constituted to oversee the process and ensure fairness at every stage.
Imchen said that the recruitment process commenced with document verification, which was conducted from January 5 to 6, 2026, which will be followed by physical standard tests, medical fitness examinations and physical efficiency tests from January 7 to 13, 2026 and clarified that each stage was a disqualifying stage.
Emphasizing transparency, she said that all components of the recruitment process were being conducted under CCTV surveillance, with standardized score sheets being used. She added that candidates were required to carry their admit cards and valid identity cards on the day of their tests, and warned that any form of malpractice would lead to immediate disqualification.

The Commissioner of Police further stated that the department was committed to selecting disciplined and capable candidates to serve the people of Nagaland and informed that the results would be published publicly, and a grievance redressal mechanism had been put in place. Representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs) will also be present during the recruitment process to ensure transparency, and every rejected candidate would be informed of the reason for rejection. She added that the written examination will be conducted after the completion of the physical and medical tests.
On safety measures, Imchen said that all emergency arrangements had been made at the recruitment venue. Further, she stated that mobile phones and electronic gadgets were prohibited during the recruitment tests.
She further advised candidates to come prepared, strictly follow instructions and report according to their tribe-wise scheduled dates.
