The Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland, Kohima, has issued an important announcement for students and educational institutions regarding the commencement of the online scholarship application process for the academic year 2023-24.

The Online Scholarship Application for Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students and the State Merit & Research Scholarship for the academic session 2023-24 will be accessible through the State Common Scholarship Portal: https://scholarship.nagaland.gov.in. The application portal will be active from August 28th, 2023, to October 31st, 2023. Detailed guidelines and instructions for each scholarship scheme will be available on the portal.

Only eligible students from empanelled educational institutions are eligible to apply. Institutions can download the empanelment form from the official website: https://highereducation.nagaland.gov.in.

The Government of Nagaland, Department of Higher Education, has introduced revised guidelines for the State Merit & Research Scholarship. According to the updated guidelines outlined in NOTIFICATION order No.HTE/TE/SCHO.21-8/2015, dated July 17th, 2023, students can enroll in the scholarship scheme only in the first year of their course.

The deadline for online verification at the institution level is November 30th, 2023. For students studying outside Nagaland and applying for the Post Matric ST, State Merit & Research Scholarship, the last date for submitting hard copies of applications and relevant documents is also November 30th, 2023.
