Oriental College Skill Fest underway

The 5th edition of the Oriental College Skill Fest development is underway from October 18 to 20. The objectives of the program is to create opportunities, space and scope for developing the talents of the students, and to provide training, support and guidance for all the students in new areas and trades.

The Inaugural programme was held on October 18 with Rhosietho Ngouri NCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner Government of Nagaland as the Special Guest.

“Unemployment faced by the youths in the State is a choice made by each  individuals,” said Ngouri urging the students to make the best use of every moment spent in the college. Ngouri also encouraged the students to equip oneself with every skills to defeat the challenges in life, reminding the story of David, a shepherd who defeated his greatest enemy Goliath with the skills he had.

In the three days event, the students will be trained by professionals on several trades such as food processing, basket making, baking, embroidery, vocal and guitar, soap making, electrical fitting, carpentry, beauty and grooming, flower plantation, knitting and  mushroom cultivation.

The inaugural programme was chaired by Riivuotuonuo Ruth Vizo, and the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Khriereizhiinuo Dziivichii Vasanth, Principal Oriental College Kohima.
