An orientation program for facilitators and Village Council Chairmen on the People’s Plan Campaign, focusing on the preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the year 2024-25, was conducted at the CMTC Office in Jakhama on November 15.

A DIPR report Informed that during the event, BDO cum District Resource Person, Vilopi Angami, provided insights into the concept of the People’s Plan Campaign. Emphasizing on GPDP preparation and the localization of sustainable development goals, Angami highlighted the mandated role of Gram Panchayats in preparing GPDP, ensuring a comprehensive and participatory planning process with full convergence with schemes from related central ministries and line departments covering 29 subjects listed in the eleventh schedule of the constitution.

The BDO described the People’s Plan Campaign as an effective strategy for GPDP preparation in a campaign mode, with a focus on voluntary community involvement.

Meanwhile, Sokhrienuo Rupre-o AC SI/SD elaborated on the Village Prosperity & Resilience Plan (VPRP). The program was attended by all Village Council Chairmen and VDB Secretaries from 12 villages under RD Block Jakhama.
