Over 300 youths undergoing NKVIB, GCN 3-day skill training for rural employment in Peren

Peren: Kevichüsa requests District Admin and SBI Bank to focus particularly on proposals made by entrepreneurs and to ensure full scale funding

Nagaland Khadi Village Industries Board (NKVIB) in collaboration with Glocal Concepts Nagaland (GCN) is organising a three-day skill training program for rural employment for Peren District. The training program that began on Thursday at Peren Town Hall is aimed to help develop individual personalities and to enhance work proficiency for the unemployed youths, IA Tening informed.

Kekhrievor Kevichüsa, Commissioner & Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, IPoS, in his address, encouraged the youths to utilise the knowledge gained for generating income. He also thanked the implementing agency/ partner, Glocal Concepts Nagaland for taking the initiative with great efforts to uplift the educated unemployed youths of Nagaland. Kevichüsa said that he was interested to know the response and level of participation in the training. He advised the participants to give proper attention and focus during the skill training period.

Kevichüsa also spoke on the importance of bank loan application procedure and informed the participants there are some schemes available for interested candidates who completes the training. In this regard, he requested the District Administration and SBI Bank manager to focus particularly on the proposals made by entrepreneurs and to ensure full scale funding whenever approached by applicants for business purposes. He also hoped the participating individuals would acquire the skills from the training program.

The courses offered at the skill training are: food processing, bee keeping, upholstery, carpentry, toilet and laundry making.

In food processing field, the training will be imparted mainly on cake baking, baking pizza and pickle making, etc. Special emphasis on upholstery sofa and upholstery bed making and how to make toilet soap (bar) at home training will also be imparting during the training.

Around 324 youths have registered for the three days skill training.

Earlier, the formal program was chaired by Joint CEO, NKVIB, Kivishe Sema, NKVIB Board member, Akalu Zeliang delivered welcome address, which was followed by special presentation from Hangsibe Kenn while GCN, President, Kezhangulie Kire delivered the vote of thanks.

Others who spoke in the program included SBI Peren, Branch Manager Joydeep Das and Additional Deputy Commissioner Peren, Keyirangding Hegui, NCS.
