P Dhankhar inaugurates NCC R-Day Camp 2024, recalls his days as cadet

New Delhi: VP encourages cadets to continue to conduct with highest dignity and discipline and to exemplify Unity in Diversity

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the NCC Republic Day Camp- 2024 in New Delhi on Friday where recollected his days as a cadet and the positive impact it has had in his life. He said that “NCC instills punctuality, resilience, loyalty, and hard work” that shapes a cadet into active, productive citizens and the most valuable human resource of the country.

The Vice President stated that the Nation Cadet Corps is a platform that that helps youth of the country to channelise, in a structured manner, their energy for positivity and ensures organic growth of youth as ambassadors for national awareness campaigns, fostering integration across cultural, religious, and geographical lines.

Dhankhar lauded the organization for heralding a new era of youth development and national progress and encouraged the cadets to continue to conduct themselves with the highest dignity and discipline and to exemplify Unity in Diversity. “The qualities of discipline and patriotism must remain alive in your hearts, this is the greatest tribute we can pay to our motherland,” he said.

He also expressed his happiness over the increased participation of female NCC cadets in the camp. 907 girls are taking part of the month-long annual camp ahead of the Republic Day. The Vice President also celebrated that female cadets will proudly march down the Kartavya Path in two exclusive contingents with two female bands on 26th January.

During the inauguration of NCC Camp, VP Dhankhar also visited the flag area which displayed tableaus of different NCC directorates. Thereafter, he visited the NCC’s ‘Hall of Fame’ and witnessed mesmerising cultural performance by the cadets.
