Dimapur, July 21, 2023: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) conducted a spot verification at the District Hospital in Dimapur in connection with the examination of the C and AG (Comptroller and Auditor General) Report of India for the year 2018-19.

The PAC Chairman and Advisor to Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, led a team that included Dr. Neisatuo Metro MLA, Y Mankhao Konyak MLA, and Lima Onen Chang MLA to inspect the hospital’s facilities, medical equipment, telecommunications, and all health units.

Addressing the media, Yanthan stated that the committee’s visit aimed to physically assess the hospital’s performance and the C and AG paras (paragraphs) that appeared in the report resulting from a performance audit conducted in 2018-19. He acknowledged the areas that require attention and assured that the committee’s recommendations would be forwarded to the concerned department. Yanthan commended the hospital’s management and health service providers for their dedication and efforts despite the challenges faced in a metropolitan city like Dimapur, which handles a significant patient load. He encouraged the medical staff to continue delivering their best, emphasizing the critical importance of health service in one’s life. The PAC’s spot verification aims to ensure improved healthcare services and accountability in the district hospital.
