Keneizhakho Nakhro, on Saturday, said that his vision statement for the 14th Nagaland Assembly election 2023 is ‘Partnering together for an equitable, sustainable and resilient future for all’. He stated this at the release of his election manifesto here at Kohima.
Nakhro is the Independent candidate from 8-Western Angami Assembly Constituency.
Addressing the gathering, he stated that his key priorities are infrastructure, education, health, gender equality/women empowerment, economic development, inclusive growth, responsible tourism and agriculture.

Speaking on the way forward, Nakhro asserted that he would work to improve infrastructural facilities for better quality of life, accessibility to basic services and opportunities; focus in skill development for livelihood development and community building; promote gender equality and women empowerment; strive for inclusive growth that benefits all sections of society; promote games and sports and other opportunities for the youths; fastback public services for pensioners and senior citizens and to promote sustainable and responsible tourism.
Meanwhile, Nakhro also expressed his discontentment of being denied the NDDP ticket and stated that the reason is best known to them (NDPP) however, he said, “we take this as for a good reason only, as per the present political situation.”

Adding that he opted to contest as an Independent candidate as the situation demanded and the denial of NDPP ticket has overwhelmed his constituency people with unstinted support.
Nakhro exuded confidence of retaining his sear and appealed to his constituency people to support and vote for him so that he can perform better in the next government.
Highlighting his achievements during the five years term, he stated that the 13th house was challenging due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Keneizhakho Nakhro got elected in the year 2018 on NPF ticket and merged with the NDPP along with 20 other NPF MLAs in April 2022.

Nakhro was the sitting NDPP MLA however he was denied the party ticket. He will be contesting as an Independent against NDPP women candidate Salhoutuonuo Kruse.
