Barak Football Academy, Lekie Mtei FC, Puiteng FC and Northern Zeme Sports Association (NZSA) won their respective matches on Friday at the ongoing first Peren District Football League 2022 at Jalukie ‘B’ village ground.
Barak FA vs Native Feathers
In the first match, Barak FA downed one of the season favourites Native Feathers 2-0. The first goal was scored by Barak FC captain Kenumdi in the 5th minute, while the second goal was scored by Namdaunbo Panmei in the 83rd minute. Native Feathers dominated parts of the game but failed to make a breakthrough despite a couple of shot on target by Khiuwangbo Kaurintah which hit the cross bar.
Puiteng FC vs Prime FC
In the second match, Puiteng FC defeated Prime FC 1-0. Three minutes into the game, a solitary goal of the game came from the boot of Emsolung of Puiteng FC. Prime FC made several attempts but failed to find the equalizer and had to concede a defeat.
Lekie Mtei FC vs NASA
Lekie Mtei FC upset Nsong Area Sports Association (NASA) 4-1 in the third match. The captain of Lekie Mtei FC, Haileuyibe Iranggau secured the first hat-trick of the season by scoring 4 goals in the 9th, 12th, 65th and 76th minutes. A solitary goal for NASA came from the boot of Hezieding when he scored a stunning goal from inside the D’ box.
Haileuyibe Iranggau, has become the talk of the football fans, and all eyes are on him as he displayed his talents and skills with good physics, his speed and accuracy and one of the most dangerous strikers of the season.
Iranggau, currently the highest goal scorer of the league with 5 goals in two matches, had played for Madhya Bharat in 2017-18 and Fateh Hyderabad in 2018-19 in the second division I-League.
NZSA vs Benreu FC
In the fourth match, Northern Zeme Sports Association (NZSA) came from behind to beat Benreu FC 4-3 in a seven goals thriller. The first half was dominated by Benreu FC. Samlamgumlung of BFC secured the second hat-trick of the season by scoring in the 11th, 18th and 48th minutes.
NZSA came back stronger in the second half and their spirited effort paid off. The first goal for NZSA was scored by Ilungrai in the 65th minute, which was doubled by K. Azik after a minute. The spirit and enthusiasm grew stronger as the equalizer came in the 82nd minute from the boot of Kekielungzeung. The winning goal was scored in the dying 90th minute by Hopeson. Benreu FC was overpowered by NZSA who fought hard till final whistle.
