People’s Democratic Alliance campaigns at Longsa Village

The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) 38 Wokha A/C campaign event was held at Longsa Village, Wokha today.

PDA candidate Dr. Chumben Murry, was accompanied by Advisor Mhathung Yanthan, MLA Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe, and Former BJP candidate Renponthung Ezung, at the rally.

In his speech, Dr. Chumben Murry expressed optimism in the party’s victory in the upcoming elections. Disproving allegations of BJP being anti-Christian, Dr. Murry implored against the use of the religion card for political motives. “Not all Hindus hold anti-Christian sentiments. Anti Christians are just a small percentage of extremists,” said Dr. Murry who condemned the Congress for using the religion card.

Assuring the gathering as a devout Christian chosen by God to serve the people, the PDA candidate stated that he will work diligently to uplift the Christians and to mitigate the hurting of Christians sentiments.

Dr. Murry also affirmed PDA government’s commitment to prioritize the interests of the Naga people. Claiming that AFSPA was brought in by the Congress in the year 1958, Dr. Murry stated that it is slowly being eliminated in many parts of the state due to the efforts of the present government. Appealing the gathering to vote for him, he assured to work tirelessly for peace, stability, and development, positioning himself as a bridge between the Nagas and Delhi.

Advisor Mhathung Yanthan expressed pride in campaigning for a fellow Lotha candidate, highlighting Dr. Murry’s credentials and eligibility on receiving the party ticket. “Dr . Murry is Nagaland’s favourite candidate,” stated the Advisor drawing attention to Dr. Murry’s popularity and intellect, requesting the gathering to vote for him.

On the ENPO issue, Advisor Yanthan expressed hope in their inclusion in the democratic process. Refuting allegations of  BJP being an anti Christian party, Yanthan reaffirmed that he and all the other MLAs are devout Christians  and will never compromise on faith and identity.

The Advisor urged the gathering to maintain unity and vote to elect Dr. Murry with a significant majority.

Expressing optimism in Dr. Murry’s candidacy, Renponthung Ezung, Former BJP candidate from 38 AC, stated that Dr. Murry is the most suitable representative for the Nagas in the Lok Sabha. Ezung further called for cohesion and solidarity in such critical juncture.

Stressing on the support from 60 MLAs and eight political parties, MLA Y. M Humtsoe urged the voters to seize the opportunity. Humtsoe also acknowledged the unity among the four Lotha legislatures and conveyed optimism for Dr. Murry’s victory.
