The 8th Inter-Departmental Tournament of Peren District began at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Jalukie Town on 24 November. Deputy Commissioner Peren, Vineet Kumar, IAS was the special guest.

The DC in his inaugural address ccongratulated the organizing committee for organizing the tournament in such a grand manner despite time and resources constraints.

He further added that the inter-departmental tournament is a very important occasion for all the government employees to interact, to know each other and also to find out the hidden talents of the government employees.

He officially declared the two-day long tournament open in the presence of ADC Jalukie and wished the event a grand success.

The inaugural programme was chaired by EAC Jalukie, Imtinungla Longkumer, while welcome address was delivered by Organizing Committee Member, Er Asembe Mbungcha and a special song was presented by Kenlumyile.

The tournament will witness various departments in the district go head-to-head in various games. The two-day tournament will conclude on 25 November.
