In what can be called a significant economic development for the district of Peren, the first batch of cardamom spice from Peren district was delivered to a Mumbai based company under the initiatives of district administration Peren.
According to a DIPR report, two loads of cardamom were dispatched as a pilot project last month.

This was done as a demonstration exercise for farmers and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) about the availability of abundant avenues for the spices market outside the state, the release said.
“The effort is to make it sustainable by promoting local entrepreneurs who can take up this project. It is expected that farmers of the district come forward and utilize the established market linkage to realize better prices and income,” it was mentioned.
