With an aim to impart awareness on the importance of rainwater harvesting among local populace of Peren district, Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR), under the aegis of IGAR (North), organised an awareness lecture on “Rainwater Harvesting” for people of Beisumpuiram village in Peren on 25 March.

An update from AR informed that the people of Beisumpuiram village were briefed on the need for conservation of rainwater, prevention of rainwater ending up as runoff into rivers and nullahs and effective storage of rainwater.

The local populace expressed gratitude to AR for educating them, it added.
