Peren Police has arrested an individual on charges of rape of minor. According to the Superintendent of Police, Peren, Nagaland, a written complaint on “rape of a victim by close relative” was received at the Women Police Station Jalukie, Peren on 1st May 2024.

An FIR was lodged and a case under the POCSO Act was registered at the police station, the SP Manish Bhartiva, IPS, said in a press release. He mentioned that the police immediately acted to arrest the accused but on arriving at the accused’s residence, they found him to be missing.

“After consistent effort with the help of local intelligence and technical surveillance, the accused was arrested from Zunheboto district on 02/05/2024,” the SP stated.

Peren Police informed that further investigation is underway to ascertain facts and gather evidences and appealed for privacy of the victim and family members.
