T.R Zeliang on Monday stated that Peren town will soon become a tri-junction connecting Assam, Nagaland and Manipur while talking about the ‘X ‘ road project in Peren Town connecting it with Kohima and Lekieh Village, Assam through Peren General Staffs’ road and several other road constructions that are underway. He also said that the town will emerge as a very important hill station.
The former Chief Minister and UDA Chairman was addressing his campaign rally for 7th Peren Assembly Constituency in the upcoming 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly at Peren Town local ground.
The NDPP candidate expressed his inability to visit Mpai, Poilwa and Peletkei due to time constraint. However, he expressed his appreciation that the leaders of the villages are working hard on his behalf.
His win in 2018 election had been a loss as he remained in the opposition, he said. To turn things around for the constituency, he appealed for votes hopeful that 2023 Elections will bring about a full-fledged BJP-NDPP government in the state.

Good electricity and water connection were prioritised, while also sharing his belief that Zeliangs have the potential to have the best economy in the state. He added that dreams should not remain dreams and visions as visions, rather they should be converted into reality.
Continuing with his speech, Zeliang gave an update on the Tourist Complex in the Headquarter which had been inaugurated on 13 January 2023, by Tourism Advisor. Morungs of 16 tribes, auditorium, helipad, cafeteria are some features of the complex. In addition to these, the new Peren College building, Industrial Training Institute and several other infrastructures are ready for use. In conclusion, he added that the victory of NDPP in both 7 Peren A/C and 6 Peren A/C can bring in many more development in the district.
A large number of representatives from women’s wings, youth wings, GBs and supporters from various villages under Peren constituency attended the rally to show their support to Zeliang.

Neiba Ndang, NDPP in charge of Peren Town, welcomed the gathering on behalf of the party while shedding light on the change that is seen in the political scenario of Nagaland. He said that presently BJP and NDPP have emerged as major political parties in the state replacing the dominance of Congress and NPF a decade ago.
He also mentioned that the decision to choose the right leader is in the hands of the people. If the public make the right decision, they will be benefited by the choices they make while casting their votes. On choosing the wrong leader, they will be at the losing end for the next five years. He urged the people to bring their official candidate T.R Zeliang to power again so that he may represent the constituency and work towards bringing in more development.
Nampeu Nza, in his speech mentioned that T.R. Zeliang is a man with principles who has done much for the people. He referred to the merging of Zeliang and Iherei Ndang as the confluence of two big rivers as they become one for a greater purpose. Whatever was left incomplete and undone yesterday, we have the chance to relive those and complete them today, he added.
He also quoted that election is a festival that Indians have been celebrating for many years now, and that 2023 Election is so far seen as a clean election. He further mentioned the credits and past accomplishments of Zeliang.
Tahikam, speaking at the programme, held that Zeliang’s leadership is God’s plan. He requested the public to look at the bigger picture and help Zeliang win by a big margin which will give him greater voice in the cabinet. Haidoliang urged the public to help the NDPP candidate win in the election and especially appealed to the hill sector people to vote for him.
Iherie Ndang, former NDPP candidate from Peren A/C who formed alliance with T.R Zeliang for the upcoming elections talked about how he felt betrayed initially on being denied the NDPP ticket. However, upon serious consideration and advice from his party, the realisation came that Zeliang should be fielded for greater outcomes, change and development.
He requested his supporters to vote for Zeliang as they would for him and not to be swayed away by false rumours and negative mindset. He also adds that in the 14th NLA election there is no major political party which can pose a threat to the BJP-NDPP alliance.
