Pfuchatsumia Cultural Centre inaugurated in Kohima Village

Kohima: Centre to house cultural artefacts, heirlooms, historical objects, preserve records of folk songs and tunes

The Pfuchatsumia Cultural Centre, Kohima Village was inaugurated on Tuesday by Prasielie Pienyü, Chairman, Nagaland, Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd.

Speaking at the function, Pienyü hoped that the Centre will serve as a place where people can learn about our culture and traditions. He exuded confidence that the centre will be a place which will harbour our heritage, and a place for people to learn our folksongs and tunes.

The land for the Cultural Centre was donated by Kruyie Pienyü, Former Chairman, P. Khel Council in memory of his father Lt. Vikuolie Pienyü, the first chairman of P. Khel Council. The Cultural Centre will serve as a place where the cultural artefacts, heirlooms, historical objects, traditional dresses and records of folk songs and tunes will be preserved.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Apfhe-o Sote, Vice Chairman (Admn.) P. Khel Council, while Kelhousetuo Rutsa, Chairman, PKC, delivered the welcome address and Perhie-o Mechülho Vice Chairman (Dev.), PKC, pronounced the vote of thanks.
