The Pfuchatsumia Students’ Union (PSU) of Kohima village organised its annual literary-cum-cultural day on Saturday at Marocchino Hall and GMS P-Khel, Kohima village under the theme “Honouring Roots, Celebrating Minds”.
Speaking at the event, All India Radio Kohima programme executive Khriesaneisa Rutsa
commended PSU for giving a platform for students to showcase their talents and also preserving our traditions through various competitions.
“Competition is not important, but what you learn from the competition is more important,” Rutsa said. Pointing out that youngsters from the khel are blessed with different talents and abilities, he maintained that such literary events serve as a platform for them to express and explore those blessings.
Addressing the young crowd, Rutsa reminded them to be mindful of technological advances. He said that despite the advances, they should honour their roots, respect elders, and stay grounded to their traditional values. It is our culture that defines us and that it shapes our identity, and it is what we are recognised for, Rutsa added.
