A 15-day Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program on banana fiber extraction and handicrafts was launched by Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Dr Neisatuo Mero at Pfutsero in Phek district on 16th November 2023. According to DIPR, the training event is being organised by the Chakhesang Mother’s Association in collaboration with District Industries Centre (DIC) Chozuba and in partnership with the Nagaland Tools and Training Centre, Dimapur and sponsored by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.
Addressing the program, Dr Neisatuo Mero expressed his appreciation to the organisers and the department involved. He advised the trainees to maximize this opportunity to acquire valuable skills and technical expertise, emphasizing the importance of hard work, dedication, and consistency. The MLA also encouraged participants to aspire to become successful entrepreneurs.
Dr Mero highlighted the recent enactment of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023 during the emergent Assembly session and anticipated that the upcoming elections for municipal and urban local bodies would contribute to the overall development of the state, DIPR said.
In the inaugural program, Zhonulü Tunyi, President of CMA, shared insights into concerns and challenges, while Cholzo Sophie, General Manager of DIC Chozuba, gave a presentation on skilling and employability.
The program, chaired by Avevo Tunyi, featured an invocation by Rev. Dr. Kuzhopoyo Tunyi of Chakhesang Mission Centre Church, Pfutsero. The welcome note was delivered by Pfutsero Ward Chairman Vekielie Venuh while the benediction was pronounced by Kedowepe Mero.
