Phase-4 of the General Elections will be held on Monday for 96 Parliamentary Constituencies across 10 States and Union Territories; all 175 seats of State Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh and 28 seats of State Legislative Assembly of Odisha simultaneously.
The Lok Sabha seats where polling will take place includes 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 17 constituencies in Telangana, along with 13 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 11 in Maharashtra, 8 in West Bengal, 8 in Madhya Pradesh, 5 each in Bihar and Jharkhand, 4 in Odisha, and one seat in Jammu and Kashmir. 1717 candidates are in fray and the average number of contesting candidates in a PC for 4th Phase is 18.
There are over 17.7 crore voters across 1.92 lakh polling stations including 8.97 crore Male and 8.73 crore Female voters who are eligible to exercise their franchise. The Election Commission of India has dispatched 19 lakh Polling officials and 364 Observers (126 General Observers, 70 Police Observers, 168 Expenditure Observers).
With the completion of three phases of the General Elections 2024, polling is concluded in 283 PCs and 20 States/UTs. The voter turnout in the Phase-3 where polling was held for 93 seats, has been recorded at 65.68%, ECI informed.
