The Phek DPDB held its monthly meeting on January 17 at the DPDB Hall Phek with K.G Kenye Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs and Chairman DPDB presiding the meeting.
According to DIPR, the chairman emphasized on the three existing National Highway roads under Phek district for which he commented that Phek as one of the most fortunate district in the State. Concerning on the on-going construction of NH roads in Phek district, K.G Kenye stated that the construction companies/contractors have to give intensive efforts on their jobs during current dry season for completion of the roads on time. Kenye also informed the Members about the prospective developmental projects in the district which also include development of Waterways (Tizu-Zunki Rivers) for which he requested the departmental officers for their sincere support wherever required. Minister also acknowledged his deep appreciation and gratitude towards Legislators, Committee Conveners/Members and HODs/Officers of Phek District their efforts in the celebration of the 50 years of Phek District on December 21, 2023 making it a grand success.
Kenye also suggested to put-up proposal for renovation, extension and furnishing of the DPDB Hall Phek at the same time.
MLA & Advisor for Taxes & CAWD, Kudecho Khamo, urged upon the officers to be devoted for progress of the district to fulfill the comments by Nagaland CM Rio during the 50 years celebration of Phek district where he labeled Phek as the most progressive district in the State.

MLA, Dr. Neisatuo Mero also extended appreciation towards Minister K.G. Kenye, his Colleagues MLAs and officials for making the celebration of 50 years Phek district Jubilee a success.
Agendas for Registration of Societies in respect of (i) Phuyo Village Watershed Committee Sakraba-Reg and (ii) Kiavi Society, Zelome-Reg was discussed and forwarded to the government for approval. DSCO, Peleneilhou Patrick, presented a power point presentation highlighting activities and functions of the Department of Soil and Water Conservation in the district at the meeting. The DEF Police and Higher Education Departments were entrusted for Power point presentation in the next Phek DPDB meeting.
Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Phek, Kuko Mero, NCS, conducted the discussion during the meeting.
