Phek DPDB Holds August Monthly Meeting to Discuss Development Initiatives

Phek: Preparations for the forthcoming 50th Anniversary Celebration of Phek District were addressed

The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Phek conducted its routine monthly meeting at the DPDB Hall in Phek. The session, presided over by Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, Vice Chairman of DPDB and Deputy Commissioner of Phek, addressed various developmental matters.

DIPR informed that the meeting commenced with Deputy Commissioner Kumar Ramnikant extending a warm welcome to all attendees, followed by a review of the minutes from the previous meeting.

The central focus of discussion revolved around proposals for Local Area Development Programmes for the upcoming year 2023-2024. The participants reached a consensus to forward these proposals to the State Planning Board for necessary approval.

A significant agenda was presented by Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, regarding the renaming of PDSA to PDOA. The house expressed a general agreement to incorporate the proposed modalities into the PDOA structure. The suggested office bearers for the PDOA included:
Governing Body: President – Chairman DPDB, Vice President – Deputy Commissioner, Member Secretary – DSO, Organizing Secretary – Select/Nominate, Executive Members – All MLAs, with 4 individuals selected/nominated from the General body.

The Phek District Olympic Association would work in tandem with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports and the Nagaland Olympic Association.

Additional discussions encompassed the registration of the Vaphi Society in Phek Village, with plans to escalate the matter to higher authorities for requisite action. Furthermore, preparations for the forthcoming 50th Anniversary Celebration of Phek District were addressed. Advisor CAWD & Taxes called upon various office heads and committees to actively contribute and promptly allocate reasonable budgets.

The meeting also featured informative presentations by representatives from telecom service providers (Jio, Airtel, and BSNL) in the district, showcasing their ongoing service activities.

In his address, the President of the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO), Vezuhu Keyho, urged officers stationed in the district to collaborate and strive for optimal outcomes.
