Phek DPDB meeting held

The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for Phek District was held on 13th February 2026 at DC’s Conference Hall, Phek. The meeting was chaired by ADC Phek, Thehakhrienuo Nisa, also present were Advisor for CAWD & Taxes and Chairman, DPDB Phek Kudecho Khamo and Dr Neisatuo Mero, MLA of Pfutsero A/C.

While deliberating on the agenda presented by the District Education Officer, Phek, Rentsamo Kikon, the house discussed the issue of teacher shortage at Government Middle School (GMS) Metsale Village under Phek district. It was reported that the school has only three teachers for a total enrolment of 86 students. In this regard, Advisor for CAWD & Taxes and Chairman, DPDB Phek Kudecho Khamo said that the matter will be taken up with the concerned Education department at the earliest.

The board also discussed the adoption of the National Highway Act, 1956, for the construction of National Highways in the state. However, the house resolved that the Act is not acceptable in Nagaland, citing the special status granted under Article 371A of the Constitution.

Locally innovated low-cost dryer was presented by the inventor Swuyievezo Dzudo. The innovation which was deeply appreciated by the house, for which the Chairman suggested extending assistance through government schemes in the coming days.

Department of PHED, Land Record & Survey, and Education Department highlighted ongoing activities and progressive works at the meeting through power point presentation.
