Phek Government College bids farewell to outgoing Principal Dr. T. Tiakaba Jamir

Phek Government College bid farewell to its outgoing Principal, Dr. T. Tiakaba Jamir, in a farewell program held on May 23 at the College conference hall. A press release issued by the college informed that Jamir has been transferred to Dimapur Government College after years of dedicated service.

The event, chaired by Dr. Nutazo Lohe, Assistant Professor (Department of History) commenced with an invocation by Vevolu Khamo, Assistant Professor (Department of Education) seeking God’s blessings for the occasion. The program was graced by a special number by Seyieleno Nisa, Assistant Professor (Department of History) setting a reflective and appreciative tone for the evening.

Speeches were delivered by Shepalu Suyie (Vice Principal), Kuhusu (H.A), Dr. Levinu Sakhrie (IQAC Coordinator), Neiwe Mero (President, PGCTA),  Vevolu Khamo (HoD, Department of Education).

The speakers expressed deep gratitude for Dr. Tiakaba Jamir’s visionary leadership, highlighting his transformative contributions from infrastructural development to the college’s academic milestones, including Permanent Affiliation with Nagaland University and NAAC Accreditation (B+ Grade). In a heartfelt manner, the speakers commended Dr. T. Tiakaba’s soft-spoken nature and work ethic that makes him a great leader under whose supervision many great developments were brought to the college.

In his farewell address, Dr. T. Tiakaba Jamir thanked the faculty, staff, and students for their unwavering support. He expressed humility at the kind words shared and urged the college community to continue striving for excellence under the new leadership.  Further, he also stated that the small college community has had a big impact in his life, teaching him both values and lessons to treasure. He expressed hope that the college will continue to strive towards its motto, “Lighted to Light.”

The program concluded with words of gratitude by Jonathan Kikon (GS, PGCTA) and a benediction by Libemo Shitiri (L.D.A.), marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for Phek Government College, mentioned the press release.
