Phek: NPP Chizami appreciates Rio for appointing Kenye as Nagaland cabinet minister

Chizami: The NPP also wished the best to Kenye and hoped that he “will deliver the aspiration of the people of the constituency”

The National People’s Party (NPP) in Chizami, Phek district on Saturday congratulated Neiphiu Rio on becoming Nagaland’s Chief Minister for the fifth time and thanked him for appointing the elected representative of the 17 Chizami A/C, K.G. Kenye, as a Cabinet Minister.

Kenye has been made the Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs in the new government in Nagaland.

The NPP also wished the best to Kenye and hoped that he “will deliver the aspiration of the people of the constituency”.

The party, at its Review cum Planning Meeting held at Sakraba Town Hall, also resolved to maintain “cordial relationship” with all other political parties in the constituency and to extend “its support and cooperation to the NDPP-BJP Government has decided by the party”.

In its statement, the party congratulated the NPP chief Conrad Sangma for being elected as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya for the second consecutive term.

Further, the party tendered its support to the leadership of Vevoyi Wideo, who was the NPP candidate for the 17 Chizami in the recently held assembly election. Wideo lost to Kenye of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).

The NPP’s meeting on Saturday was attended by all A/C Task Force, Advisors, Planning Committee and Village/Town/Booth Level Task Force Committee members.
