The Phek Police Department, in collaboration with Phek Health and Family Welfare Department organized a comprehensive Traffic Safety Seminar and Free Medical Camp on 6th October at the Town Council Hall in Phek, DIPR said in a report.
In the event, Superintendent of Police, Phek, Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS, provided invaluable insights into various traffic rules and legal procedures. She advocated against alcohol consumption, mobile phone usage, and other distractions while driving and also emphasized the crucial importance of responsible driving.
The SP further imparted essential first-aid techniques and safety precautions to the attentive audience. Dr Kaur encouraged everyone present to act as good Samaritans during emergencies.
SDPO Meluri, Peter Shuya, enlightened the audience on the significance of traffic signs and symbols, emphasizing the vital role of adhering to traffic sense in ensuring road safety.
Simultaneously, a free medical camp was conducted by Dr Ngopecal Keviechu and his dedicated medical team. Dr Keviechu demonstrated life-saving techniques, including CPR, ABC, and other first aid methods, stressing the importance of a prompt and correct response in emergencies.
The event brought together over 250 enthusiastic participants, including students from GHS School Phek, personnel from the 5th NAP, Phek Police, public leaders, representatives from driver’s unions, vehicle owners, Taxi Union Phek, Phek Town Youth Society, and ANTA members.
The event commenced with an invocation and concluded with benediction by Veruyoyi of Phek Town Baptist Church. ASI Zavekho Vero, DEF Phek chaired the program.
