Phek Police conducts rehabilitation, counselling and livelihood training

A rehabilitation, counselling and livelihood training program was conducted for OST clients (Drugs rehab) on April 25 at District Hospital Phek.

Organised by Phek Police in coordination with CSU and DAPCU, the program was held under the theme “Yes to life and No to drugs”.

During the program, SP Phek, Dr. Pritpal Kaur IPS provided counseling, rehab medicine administration and livelihood training skills to the gathering.

She urged them to work hard or take livelihood skills by which they may earn which can help them in education, health and other family needs. Dr. Kaur also urged them not to misuse OST or get in relapse but be determined to finish the treatment and then contribute to a prosperous society.

EAC Phek, Imnalensa Walling NCS, spoke on the objectives of programme where she encouraged the gathering to have strong will power and choose livelihood instead of drugs and other intoxicants. She also stressed on the need to prevent stigma in society.

Puvozo, Vice President, Chakesang Students’ Union, motivated them and said that whole society will be their support and they should believe in themselves and leave drugs abuse.

During the program, two OST clients shared their testimony while Kuduvo Kezo, DAPCU Phek delivered the welcome address. Rev.Thepuchiyi, Pastor, Phek Town Baptist Church invoked blessings and Wazote Akami, Youth Director PBC Phek Police pronounced the benediction. Livelihood training on mudaas making was trained by Phek Police.

Earlier,  the program was chaired by Velato Nienu and attended by 40 participants including OST clients and medical team.
