The Thipuzumi Kiwi & Allied Food Processing Cluster (Common Facility Centre) was inaugurated at Phek district on Friday by B B Swain, Secretary, Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India in the presence of Nagaland CAWD & Taxes, Advisor Kudecho Khamo.
Speaking at the event, Swain informed that similar projects are being commissioned in different parts of the country and that MSME is working towards bringing technology to help the entrepreneurs to earn livelihood.
He stated that the Ministry is ready to help the people and wished a wonderful future. He also assured that more projects and fundings will take place.
Joint Secretary, MSME, Government of India, Mercy Epao encouraged the farmers to work hard for a sustainable livelihood. She called upon the villagers to conserve forest and natural resources and reminded them that they have a bright future ahead. She also asked the villagers to stay united and access various developmental packages.
Kudecho Khamo thanked the Ministry of MSME for granting the project and stated that it is one of the most important and the biggest gift to the people of the area and said the project will usher so many opportunities to farmers.
He also thanked everyone who made the project successful.
Khamo assured to allocate major chunk of fund from Local Area Development Programme (LADP) towards agri and allied activities to boost the rural economy.

Director, state office, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Ministry of MSME, Dimapur, A S Deewan, also highlighted the various activities being undertaken to promote entrepreneurship. He stated that the state office of Khadi & Village Industries Commission has conducted awareness- cum-distribution of bee boxes with live bee colonies and tool kits under Honey Mission and fruits and equipment under Agro Based & Food Processing Industry (ABFPI) Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY), which was handed over to the beneficiaries by Swain. 200 bee boxes had also been distributed, Deewan added.
Nagaland’s commissioner and secretary for Rural Development, Neposo Theluo and Rothihu Tetseo, IPS, DIGP (Range) Kohima and several other dignitaries were also present at the programme.
Earlier, chairman of Thipuzumi Welfare Society, Kohima Dr. Riipfiihii Rose, delivered welcome address while Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima, Rev. Vezopa Rhakho and Pastor, Thipuzumi Baptist Church, Vejuyi Rose pronounced the invocation and benediction respectively.
