Phom People’s Council reaffirms abstention from ULB elections

Reaffirming its commitment to the Chenmoho Resolution, the Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) has directed all the Phom apex tribal bodies to follow the given directives for strict compliance:

  1. That all the intending candidates shall not file their nomination papers and shall abstain from participation in this forthcoming ULBs election.
  2. Political parties/ Candidates are strictly prohibited from conducting election campaign or canvassing within the ward jurisdiction.
  3. All respective wards both from Longleng and Tamlu are vested with the authority and responsibility to enforce these directives rigorously within their respective wards.

  1. In the event of not adhering to the said directives by any member/Candidate/Political Parties shall be held responsible for betraying the Eastern Nagaland Public Movement.

Any individual or groups going against this directives shall be doing so at his/her own risk and shall be fully responsible for any untoward incident that may arise in regard to forthcoming ULBs election, stated the PPC.
