The Phoyisha Cultural Organization celebrated its cultural day with Dr. Pritpal Kaur IPS, SP Phek as the Special guest on January 10 at Yisisotha Village Meluri, Phek.
The Valedictory Guest for the event was Advocate Chitho Nyusou. During the event, Dr. Kaur unfurled the flag and inaugurated the program.
Speaking on the significance of cultural values, the SP urged the gathering to preserve their rich heritage and culture. The need to document one’s histories and generational traditions was also highlighted by the Special Guest.
Further, Dr. Kaur motivated the youth to pursue their dreams and career instead of indulging drugs or other intoxicants, to make their tribe and society more peaceful and prosperous.

Cultural troops and teams from ten villages participated in traditional games during the celebration: Phor, New Phor, Wuzu, Molen, Yisi, Shatuza, Weziho, Yisisota, Hutsü, and Küzatü.
Traditional bow and arrow archery , singing, dancing and traditional game competitions were held. Over 500 persons attended the celebration of the community’s rich heritage.
Earlier, the invocation was pronounced by Pastor S. Kochu and the welcome address was delivered by Kuiyiphu Sharu, Chairman PCO.
