Pickleball: NPA announces Kohima Open Tournament

The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA), in collaboration with Pickopadel, has announced the Kohima Open Tournament 2025 to be held on August 16 and 17 at the Akim Sports Centre, Kohima.

NPA in a release informed that the state-closed tourney will have a prize pool of ₹50,000, featuring Men’s Doubles (Open) and Mixed Doubles (Open) categories. The Kohima Open marks another major milestone in NPA’s mission to promote and develop pickleball across Nagaland, the association said.

The Indian Pickleball Association, in partnership with Pickopadel, expressed that it is a proud moment celebrating with the Kohima open tournament, situated at an altitude of 4,800 feet, making it the highest pickleball court in India. “This development marks a significant step forward for the sport in the region and sets the stage for high-quality competitions,” the release further stated.

“In the lead-up to the tournament, the NPA is committed to creating an exceptional competitive environment for players. The event will bring together top talent from across the state, offering an exciting platform for athletes to showcase their skills in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports,” the NPA said.

Players have been encouraged to register before August 14, 9 PM by visiting www.nagalandpickleballassociation.com. The organisers have also welcomed media partners and stakeholders to contact the NPA for coordination. Further, the association extended its best wishes to all participants and anticipates to making the Kohima Open Tournament 2025 a celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and community spirit.
