Pinnacle Digital Plus opens in Kohima to equip youth in tech skills, make them job ready

Kohima: Centre to also open Japanese Centre of Excellence to help students seek employment in Japan

Pinnacle Digital Plus, a centre with state-of-the-art equipment offering new age tech skills, was inaugurated today at Neilhouzhü Kire Complex, Razhü Point, Kohima.

Guest of Honour, A Nshoga, Director, Higher Education highlighted the history of the coming of digital media and computer and discussed the significance of the digital industry. He said that computers have become a leading technology worldwide, and it is essential to acknowledge its importance in our lives.

Nshoga emphasized the need to address the problem of unemployment by focusing on acquiring the necessary skills to fill the multiple job opportunities available. He specifically mentioned the lack of computer literacy as a hindrance in occupying these positions. By emphasizing the importance of digital education, he stated that this aims to bridge this gap and empower individuals in the digital realm.

Furthermore, the higher education director highlighted that digital technology provides a faster and more cost-effective way of gaining knowledge. This accessibility helps not only the general population but also individuals who are educated but unemployed.

He stressed the importance of embracing the digital industry to overcome unemployment and emphasized the need for computer literacy to seize the abundant job opportunities available. Nshonga also acknowledged that digital technology provides a more efficient means of gaining knowledge and can benefit the educated unemployed.

Pinnacle Skills Chief Executive Dr. Yan Murry briefed about the centre where he mentioned that Pinnacle Digital Plus is a division of Pinnacle Skills, a National Skills Development Corporation partner, with focus on offering new age tech skills. It will focus on industry collaboration so that students are job ready after training.

He said it is collaborating with companies like IBM for certification and training on Digital Skills like Data Analyst, Artificial Intelligence, Python etc. The main objective of this collaboration is to make the youths skilled in the emerging technologies so that they can be certified and find employment in the fast growing tech sector.

Murry stated that data analytics has huge scope and is set to touch 12 billion USD by 2026 and create thousands of jobs, it estimates that AI and automation are expected to create millions of jobs over the next decade.

The director of the centre also mentioned that Pinnacle Digital Plus with state-of-the-art equipment will impart the necessary training and also collaborate with the Educational Institutions.

It has been informed that the centre will also open a Japanese Centre of Excellence imparting training on Japanese language and culture. The students passing out from this centre will have the opportunity to work in Japan.

Entrepreneur Yanpfuo Kikon who also attended the inaugural program emphasized the importance of digital education in his short speech stating that it is crucial for young people to be equipped with digital skills. Digital media has become a powerful tool in today’s generation, and it has a significant impact on our youths.

Kikon also mentioned the opportunity that Pinnacle Digital Plus provides in the field of digital media. He highlighted the immense growth of the IT industry, which has expanded to 8000 crores. This growth indicates the wide scope and potential of digital media in today’s world.

Furthermore, Kikon said that AI should not be seen as a threat but rather as a new tool that can enhance our work and make it more self-reliant and efficient. He maintained that these skills can empower the youth and create new opportunities for them.

According to Kikon, the focus should no longer solely be on securing government jobs. Instead, it is time to explore new avenues and embrace the possibilities that digital media and technology have to offer.
