The launching programme of the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Mission for Aatmanirbharata in Pulses was held on October 11 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Dimapur, organized by the District Administration Dimapur in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Allied Departments.
The programme was chaired by Leah, Agriculture Officer, while Dr Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, graced the event as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chang remarked that India, as a whole, is an agriculture-based country, and a large part of Nagaland’s economy depends on agricultural projects. He noted that although the implementation of this five year programme has begun in Mon District and he is hopeful that it will soon be extended to other districts as well.
He further observed that while Dimapur is largely an urban district with fewer agricultural activities, it should not lose focus on agriculture. Instead, he urged that more emphasis should be placed on strengthening agricultural initiatives.
Dr. Chang also encouraged all attendees to disseminate information about the newly launched schemes so that their benefits may reach a wider section of the population.
The keynote address was delivered by Rokovotsolie Peseyie, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO), who explained that the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) aims to revolutionize Indian agriculture by making it more productive, sustainable, and financially rewarding.
He highlighted that the scheme consolidates 36 existing agricultural programmes across 11 ministries, focusing on 100 low-productivity districts with challenges such as degraded soil, low yields, and limited access to resources. The scheme also seeks to boost farmer income through modern technology, irrigation, training, and market linkages.
A live webcast of the Prime Minister launching the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Mission for Aatmanirbharata in Pulses was streamed during the event. Through the launch, agricultural projects worth over ₹42,000 crore were awarded to farmers nationwide, along with the inauguration and foundation stone laying of more than 1,100 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Food Processing sectors.
Chumoukedima:
Two-way Live Webcasting of the launching of Prime Minister Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and Mission for Aatmanirbharata on Pulses jointly organized by the District Administration and Agri. & Allied Department of Chumoukedima was held on October 1 at DC’s, Office, Chumoukedima.
District Agriculture Officer, Chumoukedima, Moianla Pongen gave a brief highlight of the launching program, where she informed that under PMDDKY scheme – 100 districts will be selected all over India based on unperforming districts.
She said the aim of this scheme is for agricultural productivity, farming practices, creating Self – reliance modern technologies to be provided; improved irrigation infrastructure; crop diversification – to encourage farmers to grow multiple crops to generate economy; financial Assistance – long term and short term loans in collaboration with NABARD. These schemes would be implemented in coordination with the existence agriculture schemes.
She also informed on Mission for Aatmanirbharata in Pulses which is a 6 year plan and its main focus is to achieve self sufficiency in pulse production, increase farmers’ income and improve soil health to focus in oilseed and pulses.

Resource person, Meciesunu Sakhrie, Agriculture Officer delivered a presentation on the topic – Improved Package & Practices of Major Rabi Crops. Topic on “Principles & practices of Natural farming”, was presented by Avizo Virie, DPD, ATMA.
This was followed by Distribution of Seeds/inputs by the Deputy Commissioner, Chumoukedima, Polan John, NCS. Later, the schemes was launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
DAO Kohima:
The District Agriculture Office, Kohima, in collaboration with the District Administration, observed the nationwide launch of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses at the DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima on October 11.
The program was graced by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) S Supongmeren Jamir as the special guest. In his address, he highlighted the objectives of the scheme and the mission, emphasizing their potential to uplift and empower farmers. He stated that Mon District, along with 99 other districts across India, have been selected under this scheme.
He also urged the agriculture and allied departments in Kohima District, with the Agriculture Department as the nodal agency, to replicate successful models and work towards the holistic development of farmers at the grassroots level. The special guest also distributed seeds to farmers present at the event.
The keynote address was delivered by Viketuno Chusi, SDAO, Department of Agriculture. In her address, she explained that 100 low-performing agricultural districts across India have been identified for implementation of the PMDDKY scheme, aimed at enhancing production, productivity, and achieving self-reliance in pulses under the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses.
The program concluded with a live streaming of the nationwide launch of the scheme, which also included the foundation stone laying of over 1,100 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, and initiatives in Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Food Processing Sectors at the National Agriculture Science Complex, Pusa, New Delhi, by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
All District Heads of Offices of the Agriculture and allied sectors attended the event to mark the nationwide launch.
The program was chaired by Rorheu Peseyie, SDO (C), and the Vote of thanks was delivered by Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, ADC Kohima.
Niuland:
Niuland District Administration along with the Agri & allied sector organised launching program of PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM DDKY) & Mission Aatmanirbharata in Pulses on October 11 at DC’s Conference Hall, Niuland.
DC Niuland, Sara S Jamir, while delivering her short speech stated that the launching of PM- DDKY is mainly for the Agri and Allied sector, and the program is to enhance agriculture productivity and improve infrastructure of the farmers in the country.
DC also said, once the project is launched the district administration and all the concerned officers in the district will thoroughly deliberate on how to implement the various schemes, and urged the officers present to sensitise the schemes to the citizens of the district.
Niuland District being the largest in area & forest coverage under Agri and allied sector in the state, would immensely benifit the farmers of the district.
In his keynote address, District Agriculture Officer Niuland, Thepusa Nakro, ihighlighted the aims and objectives of the PM-DDKH.
The program also witnessed the Live webcast of Prime Minister awarding agriculture projects to the farmers.
The program was chaired by Dr, Arenjungla, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, while Ditolyn Sumi, Agri. Officer delivered the vote of thanks.
Wokha:
Wokha District joined the rest of the nation in the formal launch of the Prime Minister Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and the Dalhan Aatmanirbharta Mission, along with the inauguration and foundation stone laying of over 1,100 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Food Processing sectors by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on October 11.
The national launch event, held at the National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), Pusa, New Delhi, was virtually connected to districts across the country. In Wokha, the programme was organised at the DC Hall, where officials and stakeholders gathered to witness the live telecast.
Senior Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Wokha, Dr. Sandeep Deshmukh delivered the welcome address and highlighted the objectives of the PMDDKY and Dalhan Aatmanirbharta Mission. He stated that the initiatives are designed to strengthen agricultural infrastructure, enhance productivity, and improve farmers’ income through sustainable and self-reliant practices. He also stressed the need for capacity building, local innovation, and scientific approaches to address agricultural challenges.
Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Wokha, Echungbemo Erui addressed the gathering and underscored the importance of the newly launched schemes for farmers and rural communities. He encouraged Self Help Groups (SHGs) and progressive farmers to take full advantage of the schemes and the resources being made available.
He further noted that the initiatives would not only improve pulse production in the country, but also create new avenues for entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied sectors. He called upon departments to work in coordination to ensure effective implementation and widespread awareness among rural farmers.
The event in Wokha saw participation from officials of KVK Wokha, members of SHGs, and representatives from various departments.
As part of the national launch, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission alongside the PMDDKY and inaugurated projects worth over ₹42,000 crore aimed at strengthening India’s agricultural infrastructure and uplifting rural livelihoods.
Tseminyu:
In connection with the launching program of the Prime Minister Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and the Dalhan Aatmanirbharta Mission by the Prime Minister of India on 11th October 2025 at NASC Complex, Pusa New Delhi, the district administration Tseminyu, led by Deputy Commissioner, Japheth Woch organised the event at DC’s conference hall, Tseminyu on 11th October 2025.
The program was attended by the Agri & allied departments and officials from various department witness the live telecast of the launching event.
Phek:
Launching program of PM Dhan-Dhany Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, held at DC’s Conference hall, Phek on October 11.

The live streaming program of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s launching program of PMDDKY and Inauguration of Foundation of PM Dhanyavaad Khrishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and Mission for Foundation Stone lying of over 1100 Projects of Agriculture infrastructure Fund, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Food Processing Sector was also telecast during the program.
EAC Phek, Imnasenla Walling, chaired the program and Veniechi Vese, Agriculture Officer delivered vote of thanks.
