Amid the fast-evolving conflict in West Asia following the joint U.S.-Israeli military offensive against Iran and retaliatory attacks targeting Israel, Gulf states and U.S. military assets, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to key regional leaders over the past 48 hours.

According to official updates, the Prime Minister held conversations with leaders of the UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar, focusing on regional stability and the safety of the Indian diaspora.

PM Modi spoke with Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, condemning the attacks on Qatar and expressing solidarity. In a post on X, he said India “strongly condemn[s] any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity” and emphasized the urgent need to restore peace through dialogue and diplomacy. He also thanked the Qatari leadership for its continued support and care of the Indian community during the crisis.

In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister mentioned that he also held separate discussions with Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman, and Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait. Earlier, PM Modi spoke with Abdullah II of Jordan, affirming India’s support for the “peace, security and well-being” of the Jordanian people. He also thanked the Jordanian leadership for ensuring the safety of the Indian diaspora during what he described as a “difficult hour.”

The Prime Minister also engaged in separate telephone conversations with Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain. During these discussions, he strongly condemned the attacks on both countries and enquired about the safety of Indian citizens residing there.

On Sunday, PM Modi also spoke with Benjamin Netanyahu, reiterating India’s call for an early cessation of hostilities to restore peace and stability in the region.

The diplomatic outreach underscores India’s twin priorities — urging restraint and dialogue to de-escalate tensions, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the large Indian diaspora across West Asia.
